Here at Safi we have always used Oasis detergent. Oasis is a special green cleaning product because it isn’t just super safe for humans and pets, easy on the skin, safe for greywater systems, never tested on laboratory animals, and completely biodegradable… it also biocompatible.
“What’s biocompatible?” you might wonder when you dictionary doesn’t recognize the word. Biocompatible means it doesn’t injure living things at all, but on the contrary, it decomposes into nutrients, such as nitrogen, that feed plant life, and are healthy for the whole cycle of life on planet Earth.
Oasis was developed by Art Ludwig, a student of Chemistry, and of Permaculture Design. As a designed of greywater systems he wanted a detergent that was not sodium based, as sodium eventually damages soil.
A few years ago Oasis was acquired by Bio-Pac. Oasis added scent, lemon oil, to the formula. Most people don’t notice it, and some like it, but if you are truly sensitive, let us know, and we will substitute a scent free (but not bio compatible) detergent.
